well what a year it has been!

Hia Everyone,

I just wanted to say thanks to all of you who follow me here. I haven't posted much lately except for my videos that I do on youtube.
I suppose I find it easier to talk rather than to write or type in this case :)

Ive not been very well this year, caused it all myself with stress (silly me I know) but it just happened. Anyway I am feeling much better now and over the past few weeks Ive been picking myself up quite a bit and working on whats important and not when its not quite frankly.

There was a house which stole my heart around may of this year and it turned out there were problems found right at the last minute before the move. Id boxed my life again and got all excited about moving out of my current shoe box flat to move there. I don't even have a sitting room, just a bedroom in which I work, sleep, work, sleep and oh forgot to mention eat... I know whats all that about?? well the kitchen and passage just ain't big enough and I don't quite fancy easting Sunday lunch on the toilet. Long story short but I found another house which has equally stolen my heart so here we go again and my offer got accepted. I'm hoping to be in there by February :) (wish me luck)

That's partly why I have been stressed but a lot of it has been work related too.
Anyway, I have made a lot of progress and I am about to give you all the brushes Id always promised I would. They are going to be perfect and I had to get them right or I would be letting you all down.

My life has been a bit of a roller coaster since all this started on youtube because it changed big time and I didnt have the financial means to cope with some of it. I am getting there bit by bit and its now looking like its been worth every tear.

I know one thing though, I couldn't have done it without all of your support through youtube. It might sound cheesy but there is nothing that comes close (apart from being smiled at by my little boy) to feeling how I do when I see all of your lovely comments here there and everywhere in cyber space and I realise I am not as alone as I once felt.

I have lots more bits and pieces which are exciting to me to share with you all soon, don't want to bombard this blog too much because oh my its been a while and there is loads new.

Thank you!!

Lauren.

I'm sorry you haven't been having the best year... I didn't know you were having a hard time, because you always seem so cheerful on your videos!

I've been a fan of your videos, but became bigger fan when I saw your life story on TV (I live in Japan... do you remember which show it was?) I'm so amazed by you and your strength! Please know I always look forward to watching your tutorials!! They cheer me up even when I'm down :)

I'll be praying and crossing my fingers that you get that house in February♥

xoxo

Lauren from one blogger/putting content out there on the web lady to another - you're doing so great there!

I've just set upon a new job myself, move etc. all that jazz (stress) and (what a hoot(!)) teaching social media marketing to my students. I have them looking through your videos and all your other content looking at 'personable' content. And yours they LOVE, love, love, love! So there you go, bet you didn't think you'd end up on a university course as part of the program. Harry Potter eat your heart out.

For all those 'nay sayers', it's very easy to post something 'out there' and forget about it, it's a sign of our information times, and absolutely NOT a slight on you. For 'wise words' from a man's perspective, my father always queries (and rightly so) 'why do you remember the small amount of bad jibes, when the good should always be top of your thoughts'. I've seen ALL your videos and all the comments, and compared to the Good and the wise, the bad and the ugly are so small you can file those as 'only for an hour on a Monday'. In short, take to heart the good and great.

Oh, and that Sunflower conditioner from Khiels is lush.

By the by, you should do a video on 'how best to 'dress' a spot'. i don't mean just cover it, I mean how to do your make up on your face to detract from whatever pimply friend has arrived...

Keep videoing. Reminds me I MUST update my blog tonight!

Mariann

Lauren, you are an inspiration to so many people and I thank you for being so "real" about it all. I first came across your videos and just loved who you were and didn't even realize that you were being "discovered". I have noticed recently that your videos have changed, you have one eye already done when you start. May I just say that I really miss the unedited, sometimes poorly lit "just a girl in the bathroom putting on makeup" feel of the old videos? I always felt like I was just with a friend. I'm sure you've had to make changes for one reason or another, just wanted you to know I miss it! Take care, and good luck with your new home. PS: Can you make a video for day to day makeup for a full-time office-working mom of four who barely has a moment to herself and not much $$ :) Thanks xo

Lauren, sorry you have had a tough year -- I've had one too if it helps! Not sure that it does but sometimes it's nice to know that you're not the only one having a crazy time of it (even if I am halfway around the world from you and, oh, we don't even know one another!)

I've got my fingers crossed for you to get that house in Feb., I know how living in less-than-ideal living conditions can really just color everything with gray.

I hope you have someone you trust to help you with money (finance is not my strong suit either, so I outsource it to someone with skill to spare myself the stress!!). Above all else, I hope that you have lots of lovely "real-life" mates to surround yourself with. It's great to know people on the internet think you're fabulous but nothing beats a hug from a friend who really "gets" you.

Anyway, I think you're fantastic, and not just because you actually know how to fasten fake lashes! ;) Keep up the good work!

Hi Lauren,
Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your videos.
I am from Brisbane, Australia and stumbled across your videos one day accidently,I'm 32 years old and after starting a family young like yourself I had to let go of my dream for quite a few years to learn professional make-up. Now our children are getting older I have enrolled to attend the Acacemy of make-up in Brisbane later this year and can't wait. I started searching the internet for tutorials on make-up as I feel quite apprehensive about learning this late in life (in comparison to the younger gils that I will be learning alongside) and feel like there might be a chance of me feeling like an old dog trying to learn new tricks. Once I found your youtube tutorials I have not looked back.
Your personality is so addictive, and your skills and versitility amazing. It is so obvious that you have the ability to make it as far as you would like to in whichever path you choose to take in your life, I hope you know that now.
Good luck with the house and congratulations on your success. Anytime you happen to be in Oz my door is always open along with many others I'm sure.
Keep up the great work,
Sherri ;)
